Hunting for Hanukkah Gifts

Tis the season... for Hanukkah! Since we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas in my family - and Hanukkah starts December 12th this year- I thought my gift guide should start here too. A lot of these gifts are perfect for any holiday!

There are bigger holidays in the Jewish religion than Hannukah, but this is a nice way to let those closest to you know you're thinking of them. Below are some of my favorite gifts to give and receive. If you don't know if your recipient keeps kosher, play it safe and get the kosher option or simply find something else.

For the tea drinker:

David's Team has an adorable 8 nights of tea set that somebody once gifted me. I loved it and it lasted me more than eight nights!

For the "Treat yo self" crowd:

Who doesn't love a spa day? The Dead Sea is known for it's restorative properties, but we can't all make a quick trip for a soak. Bring it to them with Ahava or other products that are straight from Israel. You can check out Ahava here.

Or find other skincare products from Israel here.

For your wine drinkers:

Nothing better than some new stemless wine glasses and a bottle of their favorite red (kosher if necessary).

For anybody:

Chocoate. How do you go wrong with that? Some people may not have a sweet tooth, but it's the thought that counts. Go a step above gelt and go with something awesome. Godiva sells kosher chocolate and they're just generally delicious!

Small necessities:

Growing up - my mom always slipped some necessities in our Hanukkah gifts. This is when we got the fancy sunscreen and cool socks. Leave this to your close family and friends - but, there are some fancy sunscreens out there! Check out SuperGoop! or Coola. And who doesn't love some fun socks? But maybe you can pad your gift with other things!

Note: When I googled "best hanukkah gifts" to see what everybody else was saying, people suggested Menorahs and Driedles. I don't suggest this. Your friend or family member probably already has both of those things. If everybody gives them a menorah, they'll have a closet full of them. Plus, your style might be different than theirs. And for dreidels - save that for the kids. Let them enjoy the game. Pair it with some gelt or chocolate coins! They even have kits for creating your own dreidel which i think is a great option to keep kids creative!
