Bloody Good Skin for Halloween!

According to this list from Mashable, adding fake blood is not the genius move I thought it was. "You know your costume sucks, putting fake blood on your face doesn't change that." In high school, I reused my dance recital outfits, vintage prom dress, and a cheerleader costume - then added fake blood! I was instantly a "dead cheerleader" or a "zombie prom queen." Once I added the the bite marks on my neck, put on some fake fangs and became a "hippie vampire". Really went above and beyond with that last one. Since High School was such a long time ago for me - I assume I started the trend, and therefore this list doesn't apply to me.
So it was shocking when I recently purchased a peel that looked exactly like fake blood! It is definitely not something you keep on for more than 10 minutes. But for those 10 minutes it's fun to make maniacal laughing sounds and get in the zombie spirit. My husband and dog might not agree.

Can I tell you how much I love this peel? It's from the Ordinary, a company with quite the following and I see why. First of all, it's super affordable. Second, they keep it simple. They don't load up their products with unnecessary junk. And third, it works!
Break it down.
It's affordable. You can buy it direct from Ordinary for $7.20. I was getting other things during the ASOS labor day sale, so I got it for 20% off of 8.50. It came out to under $7. Seriously?! It's hard not to go crazy - but I have too much junk in my bathroom as it is - so I stuck to the one thing I had researched. (OK, I bought something else from this company - but more on that later).
It's simple. The company takes time to explain their formula. Great - just marketing right?. But that's why I went further. I watched YouTube reviews and read the reviews from bloggers I trust. These bloggers are upfront about whether they got it for free (I don't remember any that did); these ones bought it themselves and plan to do so again. And some will even break down the ingredients for you a bit more.
It works. The two above only got me as far as wanting to purchase the product. So now that I spent the whole $7 on it (!), how did it go? I couldn't wait to try it. Since I work from home, I immediately tried it the moment I got it. Oops - better to use this at night because it does make your skin super sensitive. I think I stayed in the rest of the day.
Some have complained about the smell, it just smells like something I've had during a facial before, probably also a peel or acid based. I did get a bit of a sting - I love when that happens. It's a psychological thing "this is working." I know it's not always true, but it still makes me happy to feel a tingle. And then after - wow! My face is baby soft and my pores look so much better. Like gunk had been suctioned out! The next day - a big bump on my chin just flaked off. Eventually I would have used a spot treatment or picked at it - but now, I didn't need to!
I've been using it once a week for a bit now, and I love the experience. The only problem really is that I can't wear it all Halloween night. Could you imagine - a Halloween mask that is also great skincare?! But now my skin will look awesome for whatever I do decide to be!
